We pride ourselves on treating our candidates (professionals we represent who are seeking a better job) with the same professionalism that we afford our clients (companies who are looking to hire the talent). Many contingent and retained search firms put more emphasis on the client's needs because the client/company pays the fee. We recognize the dual agency relationship and our responsibility to represent the employee and the employer in a win win negotiation. With our unique approach, a substantial portion of our business historically has come directly from candidates who have worked with us in the past with an appreciation of how they were treated in their own search process, they returned to DHA to have us help them hire talent in their new role. Many of our searches are a result of continued business from previously satisfied employers and often, these searches are exclusive to DHA.

While many recruiting/search firms specialize in recruiting talent in a specific functional area (Accounting, Legal, Sales, etc.) or a particular industry (Manufacturing, Financial Services, Real Estate, etc.), we have proven over the years to be a highly effective generalist in Southern California. Serving primarily middle market privately held companies, DHA has earned a reputation for filling our client's open opportunities quickly and correctly. Our client service is second to none. Our Associates work directly with our clients with the same Associate personally handling your search from inception through completion. We also have excellent references from a broad range of industries as we've filled positions from the front lines all the way up to the 'C' suite and everywhere in between.

Our humble beginnings

On April 3rd 2006, Direct Hire's first phone call was made by its founder, Paul Costa, while sitting on the floor of our original office in Sherman Oaks, CA. He founded the company on the belief that the staffing industry is a people business, not a numbers business. Relationships are not easily quantified; they take time and care to build. The dynamic between any two individuals can take infinite forms and as humans, our relationships are constantly evolving.

Our vision was to build an organization that could help other companies hire the best people available while helping employees find jobs that they truly love. This is not just some warm fuzzy idea; we spend the majority of our waking hours with our work colleagues. In the spirit of practicing what we preach, it is also our dream to become the employer of choice in Southern California for recruiters who may be looking for a better place to practice the art of placement.
